Do I need to complete a boating safety course?
Boaters wishing to rent a boat or a PWC in Florida that were born in or after 1988, and who do not possess a Boaters Safety Card (also generally referred to as a Lifetime Boating License), are required to take the Boaters Test to obtain a Florida Temporary Boating Certificate. The temporary certificate lasts for 90 days. This only applies for the operator, not the passenger. You must provide this before renting one of our jet skis.
How old do I have to be to rent a jet ski from Romero Rentals?
You must be 18 years or older to rent and operate one of our watercrafts or jet skis. Passengers must be at least 12 years old or older. All operators must present a valid government-issued ID.
How old do I have to be to rent a car from Romero Rentals?
You must be 21 years or older to rent one of our vehicles. There is no minimum age requirement for passengers. All operators responsible must present a valid driver’s license.
How many riders fit in a jet ski?
For each of our jet skis, it accommodates for 2 riders with a weight limit of 350lbs.
What if my personal belongings get damaged or lost?
Romero Rentals is not responsible for any lost or damaged personal items. All operators and passengers are responsible for their own belongings. Although these things happen, we do our best to avoid these issues. Our jet skis have a small water-resistant compartment to store things such as cell phones or keys.
What if I would like to extend my reservation?
We do our best to accommodate your requests, but we cannot guarantee availability. This is handled on a case-by-case basis depending on if there is another reservation booked immediately after yours.
What if I lose track of time and return the jet ski or car late?
We understand that losing track of time or other reasons could occur for a late return. We kindly ask that you do your best to return the jet ski or car on time since there may be a reservation booked immediately after yours and to avoid any late fees.
What happens if I can’t make it to my jet ski rental reservation on time or if I have to cancel?
We highly suggest you arrive at least 10 minutes prior to the time you booked your reservation. If you arrive late, the time period you had reserved does not change and you’ll have a shorter rental period.
If you need to reschedule or cancel your reservation, please contact us by phone or email at least 24 hours prior to your reservation to reschedule at no additional cost or request a full refund. If you don’t arrive 30 minutes after the start of your reservation, this will be considered as a no-show and will result in full charge for your reservation. Cancelling 24 hours before your reservation will not be subject for full refund.
In the event that your reservation needs to be cancelled by Romero Rentals due to the severe weather or other unforeseen circumstances, you’ll have the choice to reschedule your reservation or request a refund in full.
What is considered severe weather?
Weather such as lightning, strong winds, or limiting-visibility fog is considered severe weather and is subject to cancelation. In Florida, we have the luxury of having year-round sunny tropical weather, but it is also known to have the weather change abruptly. Weather such as light rain is not considered severe and will most likely pass within minutes.
What if I run out of gas while renting a jet ski?
You are responsible for monitoring your fuel gauge to avoid any inconvenience or additional fees. If you happen to see your fuel running low, please contact us ASAP and return to the check-in point, we’ll refill at no additional cost. All of our jet skis come with a full gas tank before the start of your reservation, so this is unlikely.
What happens if I get lost?
It is essential that someone carries a fully charged smartphone with a map application, this way you can navigate back to the check-in point or call us for assistance. It is also highly important that your group stays within each other’s sight if you’re out on the water. Don’t hesitate to contact us for assistance, we’re glad to help!
